Shenandoah at Lake Frederick is Home to a Premier Retirement Community
Lake Frederick is a popular destinantion in Virginia. The Oxbridge group looked at the are around the lake and decided it would be a great location for it’s premier gated retirement community, Shenandoah. the community has 942 acres of land with panoramic views of the Blue Ridge and Allegheny Mountains, miles of trails through the local woodlands, and access to the lake for great boating and fishing.
This 55 and over gated community will have 2,130 custom homes. Homes constructed under Phase One will include lakeside, lake view, and mountain view single family homes. Town homes and condominiums will be available in future construction phases.
Shenandoah has many amenities that residents will enjoy. The 35,000 square foot clubhouse and exercise center will have a media center, library, activity rooms, casual and formal dining, bar, lounge, and an active social club.
The fitness area includes state-of-the-art fitness equipment like circuit training equipment, rowing machines, and free weights. Tennis courts as well as indoor and outdoor swimming pools are available. Classes include yoga, swimming, aerobics and Pilate’s.
One of Virginia’s most beautiful lakes is Lake Frederick. This natural lake is great for boating and fishing. There is a wide variety of fish such as Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, Red Ear sunfish, Black Crappie, Channel Catfish, Walleye and Northern Pike in the lake. The community has dock and boat access to the lake as well as many piers suitable for fishing.
The winding lakeside offers a vast network of hiking trails with beautiful views of the tall timbers and wetlands. Lakeside gazebos make great picnic spots overlooking the lake.
Lake Fredrick and the surrounding towns offer many activities that can be enjoyed at the local parks, museums and wineries. There are six public golf courses within minutes of the community. The nation’s capital Washington DC is only an hour and a half away by car.
Shenandoah is an age restricted community. One member of the household must be 55 or older. A select number of houses offer a minimum age is 45. No one under’ may live in the community on a permanent basis.
